Massive Software is the leading creator of artificial intelligence-based 3D animation systems. Massive was founded when Stephen Regelous programmed a unique piece of software for director Peter Jackson to make creation of complicated visual effects scenes involving hundreds of thousands of digital characters a practical reality. Regelous garnered a Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2004.
Now a standalone, commercially available product, Massive has been embraced by top digital production and effects studios, and has received a Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for being the best crowd animation solution.
Based in New Zealand with a team in Thailand, we are a happy bunch of dedicated people working together around the clock to make the best artificial life simulation product in the world, and build a great company we can all enjoy for years to come.
There are many people to thank for helping us create our company.
First and foremost, Peter Jackson had the generosity of spirit and great vision to allow Massive to be shared with all filmmakers, and thus ensured the continuation of its development after Lord of the Rings. Being able to point to the astounding Massive work done at Weta Digital has allowed us to turn a fledgling start-up into a thriving company in record time.
Many thanks go to our wonderful customers, past and present. Our early adopters who chose to take the leap and go-Massive during the Beta phase of our existence were essential to our ability to grow our company from scratch, and make the software ready for all Massive artists around the world.
Lastly we want to thank the amazing Massive fans around the world. The response to our product has been overwhelming this past year, and gives us daily inspiration to get our product out there for everyone to enjoy.
