Hi,
I didn't see you warn us anywhere that this software places 2 huge watermarks over the renders saying "massive"
This makes this a complete waste of time and effort.... but a decent data gathering game for you....
uninstalled, delete my data and don't contact me again.
Watermarks
It says quite clearly on the Massive 101 page on our website: "The only significant limitiation is that renders are watermarked and currently just Arnold and Velocity are the supported renderers."jimjam83 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 5:53 pm Hi,

Massive 101 is not intended as a data gathering exercise. It is intended to encourage people to learn how to use Massive, for artists to discover the possibilities of using Massive, and for the pure enjoyment of using the software. We don't sell contact information and we don't even use it for our own marketing.
Anyone wanting to generate renders without watermarks can buy a temporary (or permanent) license, and their agents and scene files will all work in the commercial version of Massive.
We put a lot of thought and research into whether we should use watermarks in Massive 101 renders. Stephen was determined at first that there should be no limitations whatsoever, but due to advice from many industry professionals it was decided that watermarks would be required for Massive to be able to continue as a viable company.

not at all surprised at the amount of vitriol and entitlement shown here...
I work at SideFX and occasionally see the same kinds of things said about our Apprentice license.
I last used Massive at a studio way back in 2015(?) and really enjoyed it, these days I'm up to my neck in Houdini's crowd tools and while there are similarities there are also big differences - so my interest in Massive 101 is more about getting a better understanding of the concepts of crowd simulation and how those concepts are implemented elsewhere and how I can bring that understanding to my work in Houdini.
Massive 101 is, IMO, a fantastic opportunity for those interested in crowds to learn about crowds, develop valuable skills and have fun.
The limitations on Massive 101 are reasonable and just as we have made adjustments over the years to the limitations of Houdini Apprentice I can see Massive Software doing the same for Massive 101 to better fit with their goals and the needs of those who use it for it's intended purpose.
My thanks to everyone for your efforts.
